A great new service we offer can create realistic image rendering based on flat vector sketches using AI software. Now you can see a 'photo' of your sample before we make one instead of just a flat sketch. Here's a blog post I wrote in 2018 about flat sketches done in Illustrator as opposed to hand drawn pencil sketches - https://www.developapparel.com/post/flat-sketches-vs-hand-sketches
I decided to use this same sketch from this post as a base for an AI image so we can see how things have progressed in the past 7 years.
Using this garment sketch as a starting point, here is the AI rendered result, based on a medium weight soft fleece fabric in light blue -
While it still has a bit of that 'AI' look to it, I'm amazed every time I make one of these images. After more than 2 decades looking only at flats for new garment designs, I think this is pretty incredible to see a what a new style might look like before ordering fabric and sample sewing. I'm happy to be able to provide this rendering service to my clients now.
